Fall Trends 2013 !

I am so in LOVE with the Fall trends
Because i live in Texas and the heat is exhausting i am ALWAYS waiting for Fall!
Im so excited to use DARK lip stick and channel my inner goth that always comes in and out since i wear black mostly every day.
Over my week vacation i have been watching a lot the fashion shows online obsessing over all that is to come this fall and winter.
My favorite one and one trend that i must confess i have been already using is the NAIL polish.
#1 Wine Color  or Plum nail polish. YUM!
since i wear a lot of black and i work with hair all day i sometimes like to wear darker shades of nail polish, so now i'm finally in with the trend. I bough an awesome wine color at  Forever 21 "night moves" it has great shine and it lasts. only $2.80 dlls.

#2 Curly + Messy hair is very much in, so ladies get your hot rollers ready!
I  have naturally curly hair and like i said on my previous post i am trying to grow it out so i can rock one of this looks! Isnt it fun?!

# 3 Messy buns with a lot of volume ! This is a very 60's vibe and i LOVE it. I am obsessed with the vintage styles and seeing them as a trend this season makes me VERY happy!

#4 Wine LIPS ... not the kind you get on sunday morning after a long girls night in but the ones that make your face look 10 x brighter and create awesome contrast on your look.
Feeling goth yet?

The rainy weather and cloudy days in mexico have had me feeling a little nostalgic but with a lot of peace.
Hope everyone has a great week and if you have any other hair inspiration or makeup please do share below!

much love,

Sparkly + Clean Brushes + Update

HOLLA!
Sorry it took me forever and a day to get back on the post mode. I had a busy weekend and i kinda took it as a way to step back and reorganize my life.
I am entering all kinds of contest this week for opportunities in the BEAUTY industry which i love and adore as you all already know.
I have been testing my skills on youtbe and to be honest i don't know how you all do it i'm not camera shy or anything but it takes a whole lot of time to come up with the right thing to say.

Anyway... TODAY i am going to be sharing with you the quickest , fastest, brush safe way to clean your makeup brushes.

I know we all are clean people and never re use a dirty brush ( yeah right)  but really we shouldn't use a dirty brush and the reasons why i will make sure linger in your mind for a while.

First of all our own bacteria in the eyes and skin (yes no matter how sparkling and clean we might feel, we all have BACTERIA good bacteria and bad bacteria) you transfer unknowingly into your makeup brushes when we leave them dirty we allow that bacteria to grow and reproduce in the brush itself.
If we use that same brush again we can end up with pink eye or worse eye infections!

Second of all the surfaces in which we place our brushes are not always necessarily the cleanest either for example: our makeup bag. We throw all kinds of stuff in there we use with our dirty hands , then we contaminate our brushes.

Third of all We can cross contaminate within our own FACE yeah you heard me!
When we have a pimple , it is considered a skin infection lets say you touch it with your foundation brush to try to cover it... then right after......you put foundation on your EYES!
DANGER, DANGER, DANGER
you can possibly transmit that infection into your eye then you sit there wondering....
"but whyyy do i have a stye?!" well wonder no more and please clean your brushes ladies.

Here's a quick way to do it and not damage the bristles of your brush or the integrity of the brush itself.

All you need is:

*two dipping trays
*antibacterial soap
*hot water

Dipping trays are important because you get to twist the brush around cleaning the inner parts of the bristle without damaging the brush itself!

Then right after RINSE with your hands under HOT water
Hot water kills bacteria and also removes wax makeup easily and helps the makeup break down faster.

Last but not least. Let them air dry. To keep the bristles long lasting don't be harsh on them! I have my brushes on a small mason jar it keeps the water from running and its easy and clean.

I really love reading your feedback! If you have any questions or comments let me know below.

DIY ALERT : Makeup Brush Cap

hello !
August is here and since its the peak of summer we all get a little more laid back and since we are all either in vacation or enjoying the sunny days , we tend to run into little annoyances like misplacing an eyeliner cap which just happened to me this pas weekend while visiting my family!
i happen to have a gel eyeliner and the one thing i HATE is it comes with a brush with no cap. I have had it for 1 month and the condition of the brush is not so great anymore. I decided to try this little DIY tip and problem solved.
My makep bag is not dirty with eyeliner everywhere and the brush is in perfect condition.
Let's try it!

hopefully this helps to solve the eternal issue of the cap that always goes MIA

any questions or suggestions on how you have used this tip?

let me know below

Blog Request: Makeup Brushes

Hello again!

This will be my first post of the year and i am so excited to be back in the groove and continuing to write about all things beauty!

I have heard this question too many times from readers, friends and even at make up seminars. " Which brushes should i get?"  There is definitely a lot of make up brushes out there and when it comes to doing your makeup at home, LESS IS MORE!
I have been trying to narrow down to the brushes i use every day and which ones are the staple of the basic daily makeup application.

Let's get to the details!

When planning on making an investment on Makeup brushes there is several things to consider. The most important are regarding quality, durability and sanitation.

Natural Vs Synthetic Bristles:

When buying new makeup brushes we need to consider the make of the brush.

Natural bristle brushes are higher quality and more durable is what is often said about them however when it comes to cleaning the brushes because of the natural animal hair (BOAR to be exact) which is not only animal cruel but they are porous material which leads to storing bacteria within the cuticles of the hair.  They are unable to be completely sanitized. When planning on using brushes for a long time this is a very important thing to consider since you don't want to cross contaminate or create skin infections because of the stored bacteria.

Synthetic Brushes in the other hand since this brushes are made from NON-porous materials it  makes them easy to sanitize correctly and be able to be cleaned completely. Since the materials are   synthetic there is less shedding and the bristles are shaped in a way that will make a smooth application. Not all synthetic brushes are so great. The ones i use are Ultimate Face (like the ones on the picture) and they actually work great and have an amazing texture and they are completely cruelty free + fabulous!

Since i shared a key point before getting brushes now let's move on to which type you need for what and so on...  moving on......

If you noticed i ONLY have 5 brushes in the picture, because really there's no need to spend all that money on a full brush set when you can get a really nice application with just FIVE brushes.

Here's how:

1.  I call this brush THE MASTER. Concealer + Foundation brush. Some people have one brush for concealer or "brightening" and another one for foundation but with this one brush you can accomplish both and save the space to throw an extra lip balm in your make up bag!  The concealer brush is the most important since its the one that will give you all the coverage and even application of the base of your whole makeup.

2.  Blush Brush  i am sure you have heard about tapered blush brushes and angled brushes for blush application. Honestly i recommend you just a plain and simple blush brush because this too can be used for you to apply translucent powder ! that saves you another extra unnecessary brush. Talk about two birds one stone huh?
Anyway .... when buying a blush brush i recommend you buy something with white tips (this is also an advantage with synthetic brushes) because you will know how much product you will put on your face and its easier to know when completely clean (yes i am obsessed with clean brushes because i don't know if you do , but i DON'T want to ever get a skin infection from makeup which btw are SUPER common and can be easily avoided by just being clean with your brushes)

3.  Eyeshadow brush. This little man can do wonders when you pick the right one. As you can see in the picture its slightly thin and it has a curved shape. As opposed to those weird barrel shaped eyeshadow brushes this one is super easy to use and you can easily apply the color in the crease of your eye without a problem.  Don't get me wrong barrel brushes have its purpose but more for a makeup artist, not ideal for an at home application.

4.  Now its time for my FAVORITE brush out of all. The Angle brush! This is my favorite brush because of its shape it can be used for many makeup tasks. If you love using cream eye liner this is the perfect brush to apply your cat eye! Also you can clean it and remove the excess and dip it in your favorite brown shadow and use it as an EYEBROW brush and last but not least if you are comfortable with contouring your won face you can use this guy too! isn't it the perfect brush? ...more room for lip sticks and nicknacks in your makeup bag!

5. Last but not least.. the Lip Brush. We are often used to just applying our lip stick right out of the   container, but there is a HUGE advantage to applying it with a lip brush. You can always get an even coverage without getting it smeared all over and also you can mix a little bit of other lip stick tones to create your signature color of the day! ..thats what i do anyway... so when people tell me" i love your lip color? what color is it? " i can brag and say .... its too cool for stores... i made it!

I hope this lengthy explanation helps you with your daily make up application and choosing the right brush to buy.

Ultimate Face Cosmetics: Molding Artist + Shaping Futures.

This past November i was honored to attend my third Ultimate Face Cosmetics training held at Paul Mitchell The school. This make up company is one of my favorite lines for professionals and I'll tell you why. Ultimate face has a big compromise with professional makeup as well as the products this line provides. They are a company founded to supprot and educate professional make up artist, as opposed to big name brands they are dedicated to travel the world providing training and knowledge to the professionals, building trust for their brand.

This company has been founded by visionaries in the beauty industry, hard working people with a vision and a commitment. Laurie is a huge inspiration to me because she has built this company with her husband and their success comes from doing what you feel right in your heart. They are a great example of a helping company. They want to set up professionals for success and they are doing it.
I feel extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to meet this great entrepreneurs and leaders.

The company co-owner Laurie Spellman and her team of talented artists held a very intense training about color laws, highlighting and contouring for every day looks, photography and runway.

I have a very special place in my heart for ultimate face because they not only have the original mineral makeup but they are committed to creating products that are animal cruelty free, with less harmful chemicals and durable synthetic brushes.  It really gives a peace of mind knowing that you are performing makeup services , applying beautiful colors with products that did not harmed any living creature in the process.

For the longest time i thought i was not capable of doing makeup until i attended the first UFC class, from there i have attended 3 and i will continue to attend their classes. I now feel comfortable with the skills they have taught me and look forward to one day be an educator for this awesome brand!

If you have not jumped on the Ultimate Face wagon i invite you to learn more about their training classes, seminars and certifications.  Click HERE for more info on how you too can be a national makeup artist!
