Cupcake Nail Tutorial + GIVEAWAY!

Today i have an easy way to do your own cupcake nails at home.
Nail art is often seen as this new art for the beauty world however we have a misconception about doing it yourself. I have a lot of people tell me " how did you do that?! i could never do that myself.." I love / hate when people say this because #1 i love it because i can do it for you if you can't. and #2 you can do anything if you are willing to try!
The nail art nowadays is a lot of fun and it takes for you to set aside 30 min of your day and have fun with it. It doesn't have to be perfect and it doesn't have to be done with expensive tools!

why don't you give it a try?

post your best version of cupcake mani or whatever nail art this post inspired you to do on INSTAGRAM #bqnailart

One of YOU lucky readers will get one of my favorite polishes in the mail!

Can't wait to see your art

love,
Cindilu

Floral in spring? Groundbreaking.

It has been very rainy around here this past couple of days so in days that are more gloomy
i tend to create my own happiness.
I think i have mentioned that i have been really into nail art and i have been practicing nail art on myself a lot! i find that it gives me a lot of peace just sitting there doing doodles on my nails.
I have always liked manicures but now that nails speak so much about ourselves I've been extra interested in the art.

This weeks mani due to the rainy days i decided to try a floral design.
i am calling this nail arts of mine manicutes.
What do you think?
Would you all be interested in tutorials on how to create your own?
let me know!
have an amazing week people

Uv Nails Vs Nail Polish

uvnails

Did you know that uv lamps are just as aggressive as the sun itself? Uv nails and UV lamps have been around for a while now as this inoffensive and fast method to dry nails or make a nail polish last. Nails are the trend right now and we are all trying to make our nail art last longer to avoid chipped nails in the middle of the work week, trust me i get it. But are really UV gels the best way to get your nails done every week?
Here's what i found out. Turns out UV gels have the same UV effect as the sun, yes, that same sun that causes wrinkles, dry skin and melanoma. According to an article in the New York Times the uv lamps where we place our pretty little nails to dry our gel nails can cause melanoma or cancer of the skin. I was outraged by the news but it makes sense. The UVA rays in nail lamps are just as strong as the ones in tanning beds. The constant use of this UV light can develop melanoma under the nail itself causing long term and permanent damage. ouch!
However there is a great alternative to this services which are the ever popular Manicures and the good old nail polish. It has a downside, which is drying time and the short lasting effect. However with a really strong base coat and top coat a good nail polish should last you about 7-9 days! i think its worth the dry time wait to avoid some long term disease or what do you think? Uv gels or nail polish?
